SPOKANE, Wash.-- Thursday and Friday afternoon temperatures are expected to reach upper 90’s and above 100 degrees. The highest temperatures will be hitting between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Smoke rolled in and settled in our area as several wildfires continued to rage across parts of Washington, Idaho, and Montana.
Night temperatures will only drop down to mid-60s to lower 70s, giving little relief in the evenings.
There is also a Fire Weather Watch in effect on Friday for Okanogan County. Winds are expected between 15 and 25 MPH, with gusts reaching 35 MPH. These conditions create an environment where rapid fire spread is likely with any new or existing wildfires in the area.
