SPOKANE -- A winter storm watch has been issued for the Okanogan Highlands, Wenatchee area, East slopes of the Cascades and the Okanogan Valley for this evening through tomorrow afternoon.

The winter storm watch includes the following locations: Republic, Inchelium, Wauconda, Chesaw Road, Highway 20 Wauconda Summit, Boulder Creek Road, Sherman Pass, Leavenworth, Mazama, Twisp, Winthrop, Stehekin, Conconully, Blewett Pass, Loup Loup Pass, Nespelem and Disautel Pass.

Heavy snows are likely beginning late this afternoon and continuing through Thursday. Snowfall accumulations of 1 to 2 feet are possible over the north cascades, with 6 to 12 inches possible over upper portions of Lake Chelan and the Methow Valley.

Lighter snowfall accumulations are expected east of the Cascade Crest. This snowfall will generally impact elevations above 2000 feet east and north of Wenatchee as well as higher elevations surrounding the Okanogan Valley and much of the Okanogan Highlands.

Patience... it's getting here. Before you know it, morons in their 4x4's will be scurrying around slamming into things and flipping over in the ditch, (and worse). It's part of the holidays. Be safe when it finally does get here, whenever that is.
