WINTER STORM WARNING:

Winter Storm Warning in effect from 4 a.m. Wednesday to 4 a.m. Thursday above 3,500 feet.

A strong low pressure system will produce a prolonged period of precipitation to the northern mountains of Washington and Idaho.  Precipitation will materialize Wednesday morning and persist through Wednesday night in the cascades.  It will linger through Thursday morning for northeastern Washington and Northern Idaho.

Snow levels will start off between 2,500-3,000 feet before rising near 3,500 feet Wednesday afternoon.  Heavy snow accumulations are likely over the 18 to 24 hour period.

The warning includes Schweitzer Mountain Road, Springdale-Hunters Road, Orin-Rice Road, and Flowery Trail Road.
