SPOKANE -- Avista crews worked to restore power to approximately 11,000 customers across the Inland Northwest after high winds ripped through the area Sunday night into Monday.

Outages were primarily related to downed power lines resulting in high winds.

Sustained winds were in the 20s for Othello, Pomeroy, and Spokane. Gusty winds could peak early evening as high as 50s-60s.

A High Wind Warning for the Idaho Palouse, Lower Garfield and Asotin Counties, Washington Palouse, and Upper Columbia Basin until 6pm. Winds SW 30-45 (Gusts 60).

Downed trees took out power lines and created road blocks in many areas.
