Boy did we warm up in a hurry!! Our 3rd day in the 80s in 2012 and the sunshine should continue for at least a while longer. Look for overnight temperatures to dip to the mid 50's under mostly clear skies--remember--our highs were in the 50s only 5 days ago! Wednesday we begin our gradual cool down with temps. in the upper 70s, before we return to more "seasonal" weather in the mid 60s heading into the weekend!

Reminder--the water looks so appealing on hot days like today--but it can be decieving. Warm temperatures outside, does not mean lakes and rivers are warm. Be safe--because of snow melt, water temperatures range from mid 30s to nearly 50 degrees. Staying in too long can cause some concern for hypothermia.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Okanogan River near Tonasket in and the Stehekin River at Stehekin affecting Chelan County. Unseasonably warm temperatures is melting high elevation snow causing rises on area rivers. Minor flooding is expected this week on the Okanogan River and the Stehekin River.
