Get ready! A strong storm system will move through the region starting late tonight and intensify as we go through Friday. Tonight, look for showers and thunderstorms especially in SE Washington, the Columbia Basin and through the Cascades. Spokane and Coeur d'Alene have a 40% chance of seeing these systems.
It looks like we may have a brief break early tomorrow morning, before the juiciest and most severe part of the system moves through eastern Washington, the Idaho Panhandle and Western Montana. Between 10am and 2pm, Spokane and Cd'A have the best bet at seeing strong to severe thunderstorms roll into the area. Heavy downpours, hail, damaging winds, localized flooding, thunder and lightning are all possibility tonight into Friday.
Storms should get out of dodge by 8 or 9 Friday night, making way for a wonderful weekend. Back to the 80s under mostly sunny skies. Stay safe out there!
