KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho-- Authorities transformed the Kootenai County Fairgrounds on Wednesday into practice triage center.
Hundreds of volunteers acted as patients following a fake terrorist attack during a massive drill in Coeur d'Alene. Authorities staged the drill to be a massive anthrax attack on Northern Idaho.
The practice was to help medical works train for a disaster. The volunteers waited in line at the fairgrounds and filled out paperwork listing pretend symptoms as if they were exposed to anthrax.
“It’s definitely a life changing experience seeing how one experience can take care of the community,” said volunteer Devin Goldolfo, “It’s kind of weird but a the same time to see what happens.”
More than 350 people showed up to help emergency crews train. Organizers said it the event is a stress test to figure out the weaknesses.
