SPOKANE, Wash. -- Many court monitors keeping an eye on things at Hoopfest 2013 are returning veterans.
This year there are about 646 court monitors. Hoopfest officials said at one point there were spots to fill leading up to the event, but as Hoopfest got closer those positions filled up fast.
Sister's Renee Volz and Michelle Clarke are both court monitors this year and have been for the past decade.
"It's a great opportunity to give back. Hoopfest does a lot for the area, " said Michelle Clarke.
Organizer said many court monitors are returning vets and many of those monitor's children come back as adults and volunteer.
