SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -- Thieves took off with $8,000 worth of equipment from St. Michael's Academy on Monday evening during softball practice.

The thieves stole uniforms and equipment from the locker room according to staff at St. Michael's Academy staff.

“Our gym bags, our backpags, our purses.  We came back and it was all gone,” said senior Brittani Urann.

Coaches and players spoke exclusively with KREM 2 News on Tuesday about the theft. Softball players said they are devastated by the loss. Investigators believed that the thieves knew exactly where they were going.

The thieves entered the gymnasium, walked through the basketball court, and through an unmarked door according to authorities.

“They took multiple trips to get all of the bags out,” said Athletic Director Mike Raynor, “they either had a bunch of people, or they took multiple trips.  Because 20 gym bags just up and walked out of here.”

School staff also said that the criminals also got away with textbooks and electronics. Authorities are investigating the crime but admit that there is not much they can do.
