SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -- A 14-year-old helped investigators find two people accused of breaking into his house along Bigelow Gulch Road. Detectives arrested Eric Rangel, 27, and his 26-year-old wife.
Detectives have charged Danielle and Eric Rangel with multiple felonies. Eric has been charged with Residential Burglary and 2nd Degree Theft according to authorities. Danielle has been charged with Residential Burglary, 2nd Degree Theft and Trafficking in Stolen Property 1st Degree.
Authorities said the couple broke into a house near the 7500 block of East Bigelow Gulch Road on February 6th. Authorities said the couple stole items from the maser bedroom. A teenager boy was inside the house at the time. He spotted the couple and was able to offer a description to investigators.
Spokane County Sheriff's Deputy F. Morford credited the teenager’s description for helping identify the suspects. KREM 2 News spoke to the teenage boy shortly after the burglary.
The suspects were already in custody at the Spokane County Jail when detectives decided to charge them for the Bigelow Gulch burglary. Authorities said the couple is being investigated in several other incidents in Spokane County.
“Obviously they're breaking into people's homes during the daytime,” said Deputy Craig Chamberlin, “they are persons of interest in other investigations that detectives have been looking at for the past six month.”
Chamberlin said that the couple sells their stolen items at pawn shops.
