SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- City leaders want to impose stricter regulations on an adult only bookstore at east Sprague. Leaders went to court on Friday to ask a judge to declare Hollywood Erotic Boutique a public nuisance.

Undercover detectives reported lewd behavior by groups of men in second-floor rooms at the business. Their report said that customers at Hollywood Erotic Boutique would watch sexually explicit movies.

The owner has a license as to operate as an adult retail establishment. However, a lawyer representing Spokane Valley argued that the business is operating as a mini-theater. City leaders also said there have been cases of lewd behavior at Hollywood Erotic Boutique.

The owner is fighting the move and says the city's adult entertainment regulations are vague and overly broad.

Hollywood Erotic Boutique would need an adult entertainment business license if a judge rules in favor of City lawyers.
