SPOKANE, Wash.—Saturday was the last day of business for the Spokane Public Market. It announced it was closing the first week of March due to financial trouble.

Vendors said the week leading up to the closing was one of the busiest weeks they have had in a long time.

"Lot of customers that come in here for one thing or another. It's going to be sad,” said Jay Scribner, owner of Better Built Pet Furniture.

Scribner sold customized cat furniture. He said the market on Second Avenue drew in customers because it was open all-year around and it was one of the only indoor markets.

"It's going to hurt not being indoors anymore. I'll have to find another venue,” said Scribner.

Scribner and the other vendors will have to sell elsewhere.

The market manager said he is working on finding a new location and hopes to have it reopened by 2015.
