SPOKANE -- Police are cracking down on crime at abandoned hotels like the Tradewinds in Downtown Spokane.
A newly formed police unit is working with the motel owners to cut down on the mayhem at these highly visable spots.
Officers drafted a letter which gives them permission to go onto the abandoned property to bust a criminal.
Before, there would not be a victim police could contact, so those caess fell by the wayside.
