Spokane firefighters battle house fire on lower South Hill

SPOKANE -- Spokane firefighters extinguished a fire at a home near 7th & Crestline on the lower South Hill.

Emergency crews responded to the call around 12:40 p.m. Monday after neighbors reported seeing smoke coming from the roof.

Firefighters saw the door was hot and forced entry. They located a fire in the ceiling of a bathroom.

Authorities are investigating what caused the fire.

No one was home. Firefighters said the homeowner was at work at the time

Officials said due to the amount of smoke damage in the home, the homeowner will not be able to stay there tonight.

No one was hurt.
