SPOKANE, Wash.—Holy Family Hospital in North Spokane went into lockdown Friday night due to reports of a person inside the hospital, armed with a weapon. Spokane Police officers combed the building and later determined there was no threat.

A Rite Aid security guard stopped a suspected shoplifter at about 7:30 p.m. according to Spokane Police. The security guard said the suspect claimed to be armed with a firearm and ran into the hospital.

The hospital went into lockdown as police officers searched for the suspect. Police officers determined the hospital was clear and there was no threat to patients or employees after reviewing surveillance footage. A spokesperson for the Spokane Police Department said there was no evidence to support the suspect’s claim about being armed with a weapon.

The lockdown was lifted within one hour. Officers said the investigation into the shoplifting is ongoing
