SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Like a scene straight from the movies, a Spokane Valley property owner is dealing with some unusual property damage without the comic relief to go with it.

Animal Control contacted the owner last week saying a cat was locked in a vacant house he owned in the 1300 block of north Ella Road.

The homeowner arrived to find the back door kicked in, and the water running from the kitchen faucet and the bathtub. He estimates the damage to total $6,500.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for the Home Alone like bandits. Anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction can call 1-800-222-TIPS.
