The film industry will no longer distribute 35-millimeter film to theaters to show movies.

The owner of the drive-in, Stev Wisner, said he needs $82,000 to purchase a digital projector if he wants to keep showing films. This need generated the online campaign to raise the funds.

The six-story high screen also need to be replaced. A fence keeps viewers back just in case it falls. the owner needs upwards of $90,000 to replace it.

So far, the fundraiser has raised $2,000. Donations can also be made at any Key Bank into the Auto Vue donations account.

The owner said his family has owned the drive-in theater for most of the time it has been open.
