SPOKANE, Wash.-- A woman who led police on a high-speed chase made her first appearance in court Monday afternoon.
Spokane Police Officers arrested Breanna Stead late Sunday following a high speed chase through several neighborhoods.
Authorities said it happened just before 5 p.m. near Illinois and Perry.
Officers spotted Stead, 25, driving dangerously in the area. They said before the pursuit even began, Stead ran several stop signs and traffic signals reaching speeds upwards of 60 miles per hour.
Stead’s erratic driving forced other cars to swerve out of the way as she went by Gonzaga University.
Officers nudged her car with a patrol car for force her to stop. When police arrested Stead she was laughing and drinking a Twisted Tea.
In court Monday Stead was quiet and composed accused of eluding police.
The 21-year-old has no prior felonies or any misdemeanors as an adult.
Her next court date is schedule for the end of the month.
