SPOKANE -- This week, Spokane’s mayor and new police chief announced a new vision for the Spokane Police Department in hopes of building trust in the agency and lowering crime rates in the City.
One noticeable change is that Spokane PD will increase police presence in the downtown core.
Mayor David Condon and Police Chief Rob Straub said they are putting a priority on downtown safety.
The new plan moves five more patrol officers to focus on downtown.
Breanne Roy talked to people downtown about the plan.
