SPOKANE, Wash. -- An SUV crashed into a power pole in North Spokane Wednesday morning, sending the pole and power lines down to the roadway. The crash also took out a fire hydrant.
The collision happened near Monroe and Frederick. The crash shut down northbound Monroe completely from Frederick to Fairview. Avista Utility crews were called to the scene to pick up the downed pole and power lines.
Police said one person was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police also said there was no indication the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
