SPOKANE -- Spokane Police are searching for a driver who slammed his car into another vehicle and then took off on Wednesday night. Washington State Patrol spent hours investigating the crash which happened on Highway 195 at Thorpe.
Paramedics took the driver who was hit to the hospital with serious injuries. The victim said he barely released that his car had been hit.
“I didn't even have time to react,” said Mahmud Al-Hafian, “so I ended up hitting the car on the side at full speed. I didn't even have chance to hit the brake.”
Deputies said the driver who caused the wreck was traveling east on Thorpe, failed to yield and crashed into Al-Hafian’s SUV. Al-Hafian was headed north on the highway at the time of the wreck.
Deputies said Al-Hafian was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
Investigators said the vehicle they are looking for is possibly a white Subaru Legacy with right front corner and window damage, and a flat right tire.
