SPOKANE -- Staff at Precision Combat Arms have never seen their gun stock so low.
The gun store on E. Pacific Ave in downtown Spokane is struggling to keep up with the skyrocketing demand for all types of guns.
In the past 30 days, the store’s supply of AK and AR 15-style rifles has been wiped clean. Spare magazines are also sold out, and handguns are flying off the shelves.
The rush happened immediately after the Dec. 14 shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, workers said.
Once the inventory is gone, it will likely not be replaced or several weeks or months. Orders to the manufacturer are coming up short. Parts to build guns are next to impossible to come by.
Staff said only half of what they’re ordering is showing up at the door, and prices are climbing higher than ever.
