SPOKANE VALLEY-- Several groups across the Inland Northwest are braving the cold and snow to raise awareness for homeless veterans. They are camping out on a scissor lift in Spokane Valley for a few days.
Sergeant Eric Hanson will live on the scissor lift for the next eight days, 20 feet off the ground.
"I've probably got about ten layers of clothes on right now and I'm still pretty cold," said Hanson.
Others will join him through the week off and on. But Eric said he is staying put.
On the ground, cars drive past Eric and other veterans waived at them on Trent at Cheap Shots. They are members of the Combat Vet Riders and the Guardians Foundation which helps homeless veterans.
Eric's mission is to help raise money and awareness for vets without a home. The money will go to the Guardians Foundation.
