This winter is the first time drivers are approved to use Auto Socks to help them get around in the snow.

Auto Socks aren’t a hot selling item just yet.  One supplier says it’s probably because more people don’t know what they are.

They look just like a shower cap for your tire and have a traction approved material that goes on the road surface.

Six Robblees, an auto parts and accessories business in Spokane, has worked with state leaders to get them approved.  Employees say for every 100 tire chains sold at their store, they sell one set of Auto Socks.
