SPOKANE VALLEY-- Greenacres Baptist Church filled Monday to honor the pastor who was at the center of its foundation.
Wayne Scott Creach pastored at the church for 40 years. He died last week during a confrontation with a sheriff’s deputy. Deputy Brian Hirzel shot and killed Creach in the parking lot of Creach’s business, The Plant Farm.
Police are investigating why Deputy Hirzel fired his weapon. The family focused on celebrating Creach’s life, putting that investigation behind them for now.
