SPOKANE, Wash. -- A woman suffered minor injuries early Friday after a deer ran across a busy street, smacked into her car and headbutted her through her window.

It happened around 6:50 a.m. a few feet away from the KREM 2 driveway at the intersection of Regal and Thurston.

Spokane Police officers said the deer darted across traffic, hit the driver’s side of the woman’s car, and headbutted her.  The impact broke the window and killed the deer.

The woman was shaken up, but expected to be okay.

Traffic experienced minor delays for about 30 minutes as firefighters and police arrived to remove the deer and the damaged car from the right northbound lane of Regal.
