COEUR D’ALENE - For more than 15 years, Coeur d’Alene city leaders have tried to make upgrades to McEuen Park.
The controversial makeover is already underway, but now the City is considering adding more things to the $14.26 million project.
The Coeur d’Alene City Council discussed the changes at their meeting Wednesday night, including whether to grow the cost of the project up to $17.6 million.
Officials said the additional dollars would not come from new taxes, but money already in place for urban renewal.
One of the new projects is a new irrigation system that would use water from play area splash pad to water the park.
The project should be wrapped up by mid-November.
