NASA has recently released video of a spectacular meteorite slamming into Earth’s moon.

Scientists said it hit the surface of the moon at 56,000 miles an hour.

The impact was so powerful it could be seen without a telescope.

NASA has been monitoring the moon for explosions like this for the past eight years as part of a program designed to find and monitor space debris that could hit earth.
