COEUR D'ALENE -- A confidential questionnaire given to elite Ironman Coeur d'Alene triathletes is helping race organizers plan for next year.
About 2,100 triathletes crossed the finish line of Sunday's race, adding up to about 95% of all participants. With temperatures in the high 80's, triathletes went through a lot of water.
"Last year our liquid consumption was way down because of the cool weather," says Ironman Director Mac Cavasar. "This year that consumption went up but we also had a larger field than last year. So that plays into our planning situation."
Organizers say next year they will look to put more ice vendors in different spots along the race.
