SPOKANE -- Much of Hoopfest is about tradition. But this year there is something new. It is drawing crowds before the tournament even starts.
It is called "Slam Ball". It gives everyone a chance to get above the rim and dunk the ball. The set up is fairly simple. There are three, large trampolines leading up to the hoop. Two of the trampolines help build momentum and height as the dunker makes his or her way to the final trampoline which is closest to the hoop.
The attraction is located at Howard and Spokane Falls Boulevard. It is free on Friday but you will have to pay on Hoopfest weekend.
