Ernesto Bustamante's faculty bio has already been removed from the school's website.
KREM 2’s Katie Utehs spoke with students who called him, intense, odd, and a dedicated instructor.
University of Idaho administration is not releasing any details about Bustamante other than that he was an associate professor in the psychology department from 2007 up until last Friday. The administration won't comment on why Bustamante left.
It's unclear how Bustamante and Katy Benoit met but she was a psychology graduate student.
Officials say that it appears the suspect and the victim knew each other and may have had a relationship at some time.
