SPOKANE -- The Spokane County Sheriff's Office hit the driver of an oversized load with a $14,000 ticket Monday.

A Corporal saw the oversized load go over the Greene Street Bridge near SCC, but that bridge is restricted to loads of 72,000 pounds or less.

This load was about 160,000 pounds.

"You hear residents of spokane complain all the time about how bad the streets are and we can't let this happen," says Cpl. Bob Sola, Spokane County Sheriff's Office. "Once the damage is done to our streets and bridges, you can't get it back."

The regular driver of that rig was off Monday, so a substitute driver was behind the wheel when he got pulled over.

Most truck drivers are pretty decent. I hope this was an honest mistake and not something he was forced into because he was a relief driver.
