SPOKANE, Wash. -- Friday morning brought with it more showers and isolated thunderstorms.  Hundreds of homes were left without power.

Avista said more than 800 customers had no power as of 11 a.m., with most of the outages reported in the Orofino area.  Two hours later, only a few dozen homes were still without power.

Gas station clerk Al Allen in Ritzville said the weather had been fun to watch, but dealing with credit card machines during the storms was a pain.

“It's just like things blank out for a minute,” said Allen. “Down for at least a half an hour til it gets back to the network.”

The possibility of storms and showers was expected to last throughout Friday.
