SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.-- A vehicle thief stole a truck from a car lot overnight on Thursday. Union Gospel Mission workers arrived Friday morning to find one truck gone.
The truck was used by UGM employees to clear snow off their car lot.
Union Gospel Mission Motors repair and sell donated vehicles off of their lot along East Sprague. The vehicle sales help finance UGM’s services to the poor and homeless according to workers.
The thief used the truck to move a van out of the way and damaged the van's transmission. The shop hoped to sell both cars for a total of $7,000.
Supervisor of UGM says the dealership has had 6 cars stolen from the lot in the past year and a half. Four of those cars have been recovered.
