SPOKANE, Wash.--Spokane police have arrested 29-year-old Hernandez Morgan in connection with the shooting that occurred behind the Red Lion Tavern in Downtown Spokane on Monday night.

Morgan was booked into jail on Tuesday night on two counts of First Degree Assault, Felon in Possession, and a Firearm and a Felony Forgery warrant.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired on Monday at Main and Division Street. Officers found a shotgun casing on the ground behind the Red Lion Tavern. A patrol officer in the area saw a suspicious vehicle leaving the area, stopped the vehicle and found what appeared to be a shotgun hole in the trunk of the car.

Police determined the people in that car were victims. None of those people had been shot.

Detectives talked to witnesses and identified Moran as a person of interest.

The Spokane Police Department's Patrol Anti-Crime Team and detectives from the Violent Crimes Gang Enforcement Team located Morgan on Tuesday night and took him into custody without incident.
