SPOKANE, Wash.--The Spokane Police Department officers between three and four self-defense classes each year for free.

Organizers said they wish they could do more but the classes cost about $1,500 to staff.  Officers are hoping to collect enough funding in the next year to start classes specifically for elderly people.

Contact the Spokane Police Dept. if your business is interested in helping sponsor a self defense class.
