SPOKANE, Wash.--A local non-profit organization is distributing thousands of knitted and sewn items to charity.

Project Warm-Up supplies volunteer knitters with the equipment to make scarves and hats.

Those items then go on to the agencies around Spokane that support low-income men, women and children.

The group collected 7,000 blankets, hats, slippers and mittens in 2013.
