Reach Out and Read promotes early literacy by giving new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud during visits to the doctor's office. There are two Reach Out and Read sites in Spokane County including the Kids Clinic and the clinic at Fairchild Air Force Base. Right now, the organization is working to get the program into more offices in the Spokane area. The CHAS clinic in Deer Park just signed on. They begin training later this month.
