Get ready for a mess across the West! Scattered showers will linger overnight but we should see a brief break from the wet weather Sunday late morning. It'll be short-lived as an extremely strong, moist, and gusty storm rolls in late Sunday night into Monday.
A High Wind Watch is in effect Sunday night through Monday night for much of Eastern Washington and portions of the Panhandle. Look for sustained wind speeds between 30-45mph and gusts near 55mph. WOW! Be on the lookout for downed trees and possible power outages. Not only will the winds be wild, but I'm tracking heavy rain showers for the valleys and snow above 4,000 feet where there's a Winter Storm Watch in place. We could see anywhere between 1-2" of rain in the valleys, so minor flooding is possible.
The soggy skies will stick around through the Thanksgiving holiday. Daytime highs will still stay above freezing, so it looks like the snow will stay in the mountains.
As always, I love to see your photos when wild weather comes our way! Share them with me on Facebook! -DG
