Police believe the group attacked Dr. David Warner on Saturday morning in the College Hill area. Security cameras caught images of people who might have walked by the scene, but did not capture the actual attack, according to police.
Dr. Warner is listed in critical condition at a Spokane hospital.
Pullman Police say the attack took place in the Adams Mall parking lot on Northeast Colorado Street. Authorities arrived around 2:00 a.m. to find Dr. Warner beaten and unconscious, with a severe head injury.
Investigators told KREM 2 News it appears Dr. Warner was trying to break up a fight. They said surveillance shows Dr. Warner standing between two groups who appear to be fighting. Police investigators do not believe he was not the intended target.
