SPOKANE, Wash. -- The annual Pig Out in the Park kicked off Wednesday with more than 40 food vendors set up at Riverfront Park.

This year, the event is offering a new way to taste more of the food on offer.  Vendors are selling what they call “bites.”  The smaller portions sell for $3 compared to the full size dinner plates which can sell for up to $9.50.

“I think it went really well,” said Shireen Khinda at the Taste of India hut.  “A lot of people liked to just try a little bite of something rather than a full entrée.”

The $3 special was set to run from 10-11 p.m. every night of Pig Out, and in the afternoon from 2-4 p.m. Thursday and Monday.
