SANDPOINT, Idaho--A new project is in development to help alleviate traffic through the heart of downtown Sandpoint.
Officials say they’ll build a new road at 5th and Cedar, and curve it right into U.S HWY2 and Boyer. The road will follow the old railroad route.
The goal is to keep large logging trucks and highway traffic out of the downtown area.
Focusing on future traffic is what this project is all about, because crews don't plan on starting to build the curve until the spring of 2014.
