KREM 2's Katie Boer continued her trek across the Inland Northwest visiting schools around Spokane and Coeur d'Alene to talk about the weather and how it works.
Thursday Katie visited about 60 second graders from Mrs. Towne's and other teachers' classrooms at Greenacres Elementary in the Spokane Valley.
The students were particularly interested in "extreme" weather, like how tornadoes form, where we see hurricanes and how far the earth is from the sun. To put this into perspective, Katie and several of her student volunteers demonstrated the distance in terms of football field.
