GRANT COUNTY-- The Grant County Health District is dealing with an H1N1 Flu vaccine shortage of its own.
The county expects a shipment of H1N1 Flu vaccines every week, but Tuesday’s delivery of the nasal and injectable versions was a few days late and the amount coming in is much less than expected.
When they are eligible, health officials have requested up to 800 doses at a time. The actual amount sent is usually closer to 200.
The shortage is affecting schools the most. The problem is employees are scheduling mass vaccinations at local schools every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Fewer doses mean only high risk students can be vaccinated right now.
