SPOKANE-- Sharlotte McGill moved to her new apartment by the river just one week ago. Her daughter Billie says they were already planning to move out because they felt unsafe.

Sharlotte was stabbed while walking her dog, alone on a walking trail near 1800 E. South Riverton. According to her description of the incident, a man jumped out of the bushes, stabbed her several times and fled. Sharlotte later died as a result of her injuries.

KREM 2's Ashley Korslien spoke with neighbors near Sharlotte's previous home, who say she moved to start a better life.

Residents at the RV Park where Sharlotte used to live are shocked, that right after moving to her new place, Sharlotte was killed.

Many neighbors didn't know her well, but say they are devastated at the news.

One neighbor who didn't want to go on camera says Sharlotte felt safe at the RV Park, and it's a tragedy she left.

The entire RV community is on edge.

KREM 2 news was told Sharlotte lived at the RV Park for about a year. Before that, she lived in Wenatchee.
