GRAPEVINE, Texas -- A bright fireball briefly lit up the north Texas sky Friday.

A local traffic worker caught the flash on camera just after 7:00 a.m. He was traveling near Denton, Texas at the time.

The fireball was so green and bright it could be seen for miles around.

The National Weather Service said the bright, burning object was debris from a Russian space satellite re-entering the atmosphere.
