SPOKANE, Wash.-- A stretch of several blocks along Wall Street were hit especially hard by the storm that ripped across the Inland Northwest Saturday.
The Spokane Fire Department asked residents to avoid Wall Street between Wellesley and Francis while crews cleaned up multiple downed trees and power lines. Fire and rescue workers from the Spokane County Raceway helped clear the roadway and redirect traffic.
"We just got off work, I was headed home and I saw a tree down," said Brenda Davenport with the Spokane County Raceway. "So we came out to help out, direct traffic and our neighbors."
Some of those neighbors brought in a chainsaw and helped clear at least one tree that was blocking the road.
