KREM 2 News is in the home stretch of our United Health Services Financial Health Challenge.

Over the past six months, each contestant family has learned valuable tools to become financially fit.

The Sifford family says if anyone wants to save big money on groceries, coupons are key.

KREM 2 News caught up with the Sifford’s on coupon day, and Gillian settles in to study the weekly ads. Since beginning the Financial Health Challenge, the Siffords slashed their monthly grocery bill by at least $200 a month. Gillian scans weekly ads from several grocery stores and clips the products she needs there before taking her search Online.

Her favorite websites are “Shopathome.com” and “The Krazy Coupon Lady” where she discovers deals and manufacturers coupons. Gillian says in order to make it all work, there is one cardinal coupon rule, only buy what you need.

Gillian is so inspired by her new money saving mindset that she is encouraging her extended family to follow suit.  The Siffords and the other contestant family, The Needhams, are competing to win $5,000.
