The hunt is on for a man suspected of stabbing a Spokane woman to death along a popular trail.

Sharlotte McGill was walking her dog along South Riverton when she was attacked. Seven days after the stabbing, a memorial sits at the scene where she died, which includes her nametag from the Costco where she recently started working.

KREM 2's Chris Nguyen talked to co-workers of the victim's daughter and they opened up about the tragedy.

Billie McKinney works at the Spokane Club and news of her mother's death shocked many. Her co-workers are coming together to provide support during this difficult time.

As they wait for Billie’s return to work, some are doing whatever they can to help like passing on bonuses, donating vacation time, and giving her the space she needs.

The Spokane Club has set up a fund to help Billie McKinney with expenses. If you'd like to contribute, you can drop off a donation at the front desk.
