Big Brothers Big Sisters is a non-profit organization that helps children by introducing mentors in to their lives.  The mentors then become a support system for the kids helping them to their potential.

“I wanted a big to have fun with because you can do something active like soccer or riding bikes.  I haven’t seen my dad in seven years,” said Devin a little in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

He also says he likes that his “bigs” Rick and Vick get together with him and support him, not to mention he’s been getting better grades since they came into his life.

The feelings Devin has for Rick and Vick are mutual.  Vick says, “Devin is such a special friend of ours.  He will always be in our life, I can’t imagine him not, he’s like one of my boys.”

Currently Big Brothers Big Sisters is serving about 215 children, but they still have a waiting list of more than 60 children who are in need of a mentor or a guide in their life to help them reach their potential.
